How Our Solution Works

Keeping data in-sync during migration – The UnboundID Synchronization Server allows you to keep parallel, active installations of Sun Directory and UnboundID Directory Server with the exact same data during migration.

Enabling application transparency – The UnboundID Directory Proxy Server allows you to insulate clients from changes in the underlying data architecture during and after migration. Using this approach, client requests will be routed to the appropriate directory server environment and phasing out of Sun Directory can happen without any client changes.

Migrating existing schema – The UnboundID migrate-ldap-schema tool automates the process of migrating schema elements from an existing LDAPv3 directory server into an UnboundID Directory Server instance. Because schema is replicated between UnboundID Directory Servers, this tool needs to be run only once.

Migrating existing configuration – The UnboundID Directory Server can support any configuration supported by the Sun Directory Server and the UnboundID migrate-sun-ds-config tool automatically converts many of the Sun Directory Server configuration options to the optimal representation in our directory server.
