Tier-1 Wireless Carrier – Delivering Subscriber Data in Real-time
A tier-1 telecommunications provider needed to ensure that key applications were updated frequently with dynamic data such as mobile device details, number of minutes, customer location, etc. This data needed to be accessible at high speeds so that the data was available instantaneously.
Using the UnboundID product suite, the telecommunications provider was able to pull data from legacy systems based on slower relational databases and deliver a real-time subscriber data caching service or "subscriber data fabric" to applications. Pushing data to the network edges enabled them to keep latency very low and create application and location specific copies of data subsets. The provider was able to reduce Operations, Administration, and Maintenance (OAM) costs by over 50% and create a common subscriber profile for all applications.
Large European Cable Provider – Targeted Promotions
A large cable provider in the Netherlands wanted to present real-time, targeted advertising to their subscribers via set-top boxes, and needed unified customer profile data to deliver the right ads to the right audience. Their problem: Data was distributed across various provider systems, including their CRM system, data mart, and billing applications.
Using the UnboundID product suite, this cable provider was able to unify customer identity and profile data from legacy backend data stores (Oracle and LDAP) and present real-time profile data to the advertising engine. The provider plans on leveraging UnboundID's high-performance replication capabilities to extend the solution to multiple countries over time.
