Job Overview:
The Principal Consultant will deliver expert services to our customers, enable our delivery partners, provide customer training, and ensure successful customer deployments. This role will interface internally with Engineering and Product Management on product issues/requirements that are required to deliver customer success. We are looking for a highly skilled, highly motivated individual, comfortable working in a dynamic, fast moving start-up work environment.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Serves as in-house expert on best practices and efficient solutions supporting the UnboundID product suite to ensure proper implementation.
- Work with customers in the UnboundID service delivery model to ensure long-term customer success and referenceability.
- Work with the UnboundID Sales team and customers on performance benchmarks, proof-of-concepts, scope professional services engagements and write SOWs.
- Work with the delivery partner ecosystem to deliver successful customer engagements.
- Participate in customer program or project status meetings enlisting the support of the Engineering staff where appropriate.
- Interface with Engineering and Product Management to identify, schedule, and deliver critical new features or defect fixes to ensure customer success.
- Provide regular feedback to the Engineering team to help ensure real world test scenarios for the UnboundID product suite.
- Develop and deliver training to customers and partners.
- Assist in development of documentation, white papers and technical briefs around the UnboundID Product suite.
- Develop test plans, gathering performance data during testing and analysis of results to assist in developing solution architectures for customer deployments.
Requirements:
- 5+ years of professional services experience delivering software solutions to Global 2000 companies.
- Strong working knowledge with Lightweight Directory Access Protocol (LDAP) based products.
- Strong working knowledge of UNIX (Solaris and Linux) administration and script processes.
- 5+ years of experience (proficiency) with some of the following technologies:
- Unix shell scripting
- PERL
- Python/Groovy
- SQL
- Java
- Experience in working with performance testing and benchmarking tools such as SLAMD.
- Bachelor of Science in an analytical field (e.g. Computer Science, Engineering, Finance, etc.).
- Willingness to travel extensively while working with customers and partners in day-to-day technical deployments.
- Excellent oral and written (including technical writing) communication skills.
Desired Skills & Experience:
- Experience in a Professional Services function at an early-stage technology company.
- Experience working with and scaling database systems in high-throughput environments.
- Excellent decision-making and problem solving skills.
- Experience in troubleshooting issues in a distributed system.
- Knowledge of the Sun Java runtime environment. Experience with Memory/Heap analysis tools a plus.
- Experience with Identity Management systems.
- Ability to understand and design solutions that consider integration of heterogeneous environments and systems.
